About Us

In the mid-1950s, while still overseeing his successful 30-year career with a steamboat excursion company, B.B. Wills, along with his son Trey and Tim’s grandfather, formed a partnership with Albert Van Metre. This collaboration led to the founding of the real estate development firm, Wills and Van Metre. By 1960, the company had rapidly established itself as a major player in the home-building industry, particularly in the burgeoning suburbs of Washington, D.C.

Shortly thereafter, Trey and Tim’s father, P. Reed Wills II (“Reed”), launched his own real estate firm and later co-founded NV Homes. NV Homes would go on to acquire Ryan Homes, ultimately rebranding as NVR. Over the years, Reed developed more than 10,000 residential lots and constructed millions of square feet of residential, office, and industrial properties, solidifying his legacy in the industry.

After college, Tim and Trey embarked on their real estate careers, gaining valuable experience working alongside their father. Not long after, they founded Potomac Land Management in 1992, which would later be rebranded as Wills Companies, carrying forward the family’s rich legacy in real estate development.
